2014 Travel Award Presentations at RIBA

The Winners and Runners Up of the Company's 2014 Stuart Murphy Travel Award will present their travels and research on Tuesday 3rd March 2015, 6.30 to 8.30pm, at RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD.

Matt Loosely of Westminster University, the winner of the award, travelled to India last summer to document post independence modernist architectural ruins encountered through a series of photographs. Matt's photographs and his travel blog can be found at http://mloosley.tumblr.com/

Runner up Guy Rochez of the Royal College of Art travelled around Italy exploring the 'Theatre of Food' and joint runner up William Burgess of The Cass, London Metropolitan University visited the Gothic religious buildings of Northern Europe.

The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects' Stuart Murphy Travel Award is made in memory of Stuart Murphy, the Chief Planning Officer of the City of London and past Master of the WCCA.

The Award provides a travel grant of up to £2,000 to a student or a group of students enrolled in the first year of a RIBA validated Part 2 course at a School of Architecture in the Greater London area. Winners present their work at the RIBA and are also requested to produce a report for the RIBA and WCCA collections.
